Why Central Suffolk needs SSDAB

Bringing digital radio to the heart and east of Suffolk

No local DAB provision today

Central Suffolk has no small-scale DAB multiplex. Communities from Woodbridge and Melton to Framlingham, Saxmundham and Eye have no access to locally-produced digital radio content on DAB+.

A diverse mix of market towns and villages

Central Suffolk spans a wide area of market towns, agricultural communities and coastal villages. SSDAB would give these communities a platform for local voices that national and regional DAB stations simply do not provide.

Supporting community and specialist radio

From community stations serving individual towns to specialist music and cultural services, SSDAB dramatically lowers the cost of DAB broadcasting — making it realistic for the first time for smaller operators in this area.

Connecting rural Suffolk

Many Central Suffolk communities are underserved by existing media. A local DAB multiplex would create new opportunities for news, information and entertainment that reflects the lives of people living and working in this part of Suffolk.
