Coverage Planning
Suffolk SSDAB is working to expand access to affordable DAB+ broadcasting across Suffolk. Our current plans focus on three Small-Scale DAB areas: West Suffolk, Central Suffolk and Ipswich/Felixstowe, creating new opportunities for local, community, specialist and independent radio services across the county.
Exact coverage areas will be confirmed as part of the Ofcom licensing process and technical planning. The areas listed below represent our intended coverage targets.
We are proposing three separate small-scale DAB multiplex areas for Suffolk — West Suffolk (Bury St Edmunds, Mildenhall, Thetford, Newmarket), Central Suffolk, and Ipswich/Felixstowe. Each has its own coverage area, frequency block and community focus.
